If you have a minor wound, you should clean the wound with soap, apply direct pressure to it to stop the bleeding, and apply a bandage. Also, if your wound is located in an area with jewelry, like rings, then you should remove the jewelry before the wound begins to swell.

If you have a scrape, scratch, cut, or puncture that is bleeding controllably, then you can have it treated at an urgent care clinic.
