Meet TJ Murphy in Oklahoma City, OK

TJ Murphy is a Medical Assistant at our Norman 24th Clinic! TJ was born and raised in Edmond and is currently a student at OU.

TJ is a Junior at OU studying Chemical Bio-Sciences and plans to go to medical school after graduation. He is currently interested in orthopedic surgery, but plans to go into med school with an open mind. TJ has enjoyed getting to shadow his uncle who does orthopedic surgery.

TJ has been interested in the medical field since the 5th grade when his dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

TJ decided to work at Immediate Care so that he could get hands-on experience working with patients. TJ’s favorite part about working at Immediate Care is the amazing staff that he gets to work with. He really likes the team at 24th Street. He also loves getting to interact and be personal with the patients. He strives to balance being efficient while still taking the time to be compassionate.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with friends, watching college football and trading stocks. He is also involved in a Big Brother program. He mentors a 5th grader and gets to help him with school and teach him life skills.

A fun fact about TJ is that he played both football and baseball in high school and he never got hurt playing football, a full-contact sport, but broke his ankle twice playing baseball.

If he could eat lunch with anyone it would be Joe Rogan. TJ would like to talk with Joe Rogan because he interacts with a lot of different people with a lot of different fields on completely different spectrums. TJ would like to get to talk about his interviews from his podcast and getting to hear about what Joe Rogan has learned from others.

TJ has been excited to learn since day one! He is the first to volunteer to help when things get busy, and always has a positive attitude every single day! He’s such a joy to have around the clinic and patients are always commenting on his enthusiasm to be at work and they always feel cared for and listened to when he’s here at the clinic!
