Andy

Andy is one of our dedicated Medical Assistants at the Norman clinics! Andy’s journey is as inspiring as it is unique. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he spent some time in Colorado before settling in Tulsa at just 4 or 5 years old.
This month marks a major milestone—Andy will graduate from the University of Oklahoma and has already been accepted into medical school. His passion for medicine is deeply personal. Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of four, Andy spent many summers attending camps for children with diabetes. There, he was inspired by volunteer counselors who were medical students, planting the seed for his future career. As he grew older, Andy returned to those same camps as a counselor, coming full circle in giving back.
His experiences led him to shadow an endocrinologist, and today, his dream is to become a pediatric endocrinologist so he can support and inspire kids facing similar challenges.
At ICO, Andy says his favorite part is the people. He values the strong sense of community, sharing that it feels like “more of an experience than a job.”
Outside of work, Andy enjoys staying active at the gym, playing pickleball with his girlfriend, walking his family dog, watching movies, and gaming on his Xbox. If given the chance to have lunch with anyone, he’d choose Alexander the Great—he’d love to compare perspectives on their world views.
Fun fact: Andy can solve a Rubik’s Cube in under 50 seconds—and he has a collection of different cubes, many of which were gifted to him!
We can’t wait to see all the amazing things he accomplishes in the future.
